Last Monday, I put together a storage rack with modular storage shelves I got from Lowe's. There are a total of 6 modules:Each side module has 2 components of the same type. They're to be connected by 5 interconnects. I followed the instructions coming with the modules and connected the two components in the same module with the five interconnects. Each beam module has 2 beam components of the same type. I connected the two beams between the two aforementioned racks at the same level. Then I connected the other two beams in the second beam module between the two racks at another level. Each module contains one shelf component. I just laid the two shelves onto the two levels of the beams according to the instructions.
So, the rack system has 10 components altogether. About 15 years ago, Lowe's sold modular storage shelves of slightly different kind. For a similar configuration, it got a total of 8 components:2 side rack modules
Each module had one component, a single-piece with interconnects factory-welded. So, the assembly was toolless.4 beam modules
Each beam module consisted of one beam component. Like this time, I connected the beams to the racks on both sides.2 shelf modules
Each shelf module consisted of one shelf compoment. I just had to simply put the two shelf components on top of the beams like this time.
