I had to replace two fuses in one fuse box in the same day!

Last Tuesday, I had to replace two fuses in one fuse box in the same day. The fuse box in my house has 8 slots of which 6 are populated with 15 A or 20 A fuses and 2 slots are empty. I replaced a blown 20 A fuse on the left column with a brand new 20 A fuse I got from Home Depot. Voila! The outlets in the living room were back in business. However, the outlets in the north bedroom were still down. I had to replace a second 20 A fuse on the right column of the fuse box with another new 20 A fuse. This never happened to me before, two fuses required replacement at one time.
