Last Saturday, Mr. Elon Musk's PAC(political action committee) started to offer $1 million sweepstakes daily to petitioners who are registered voters in seven battleground states. Counting election day, the sweepstakes amount to $18 million, they could be a capital efficient and cost effective way to turn out voters if deemed legal. If court doesn't deem the sweepstakes illegal, some PAC pro Vice President Kamala Harris, the Democratic Party nominee, should also consider offering sweepstakes in the same dollar amount to petitioners who sign to uphold the Constitution including Amendments 1 and 2. If not illegal, the cash sweepstakes surely would turn out more voters in addition to pep talks. I'm a Harris voter and donor, naturally I would like to see my candidate win, and I like to see high turn-out with more eligible Americans voting, the more people voting, the more weight the final result carries. If not illegal, offering sweepstakes to petitioners from both pro Vice President Harris PAC and pro President Trump PAC would help turn out more voters and would simply double the cash awards going to the registered voters in the battleground states, and it could be another game changer for voter turn-out for this election and the elections to come, like Citizens United v. FEC.| Feng Zhou |
