We attended the last two home games of San Jose Earthquakes at its PayPal Stadium.(Go Quakes!) PayPal Stadium is an outdoor stadium, but most fans, young and old, were wearing masks, to my surprise. We also wore masks, but my understanding is that my county, County of Santa Clara where PayPal Stadium is located, only requires mask-wearing at indoor public settings. I think most fans at the stadium thought it was still prudent to wear masks at large outdoor settings albeit it was outdoor. Right now, I think my county is focused on two items for the general public with respect to the COVID-19 pandemic, requiring people to wear masks at indoor public settings and urging people to get vaccinated when applicable. I took my vaccination, so I only need remember one thing -- wear a mask at indoor public settings. I took the first dose of Pfizer in May, the second dose of Pfizer in June, right before Milwaukee Bucks won the NBA Finals in July. (Congratulations, Milwaukee Bucks!) I didn't feel anything unusual after the first dose, but I had a low fever for a couple of days after the second dose. I was told that's one of the common side effects to be expected. So, let's continue to heed the advice of our public health experts and fight to flatten the curve on COVID-19 hospitalizations.
