I ran in the 40th Palo Alto Weekly Moonlight 5K in September and clocked under 33 minutes. The race was held at night. Before the race, I was considering to wear a headlamp to illuminate the road ahead of me. Then I thought there might be enough lighting from the moonlight as the race night(9/20) was close to a full moon night(9/17, which coincided with one of the biggest holidays in Chinese culture, Mid-Autumn Festival). At the race night, I didn't see the moon at all until I finished and left the course. Luckily, there was enough lighting on the road ahead of me at the race. A lot of families wore all kinds of lights on them, and the course was situated in the middle of the metropolitan San Francisco Bay Area with millions of building lights providing the background lighting around the course.
