After White House, former President Carter devotes himself to three initiatives: providing houses to families that want and need houses, monitoring elections in South America, and providing medicine and vaccines to fight infectious diseases in Africa. Former President Carter is a hero, during the 1979 Iran Hostage Crisis, he must have weighed many options provided by his operations chiefs and decided further actions risked more casualties. In the end, hostages returned safely to the United States after the ordeal. Former President Carter must have thought that ending the crisis sooner would likely help his chances for a second term, but he placed hostages' life above his political career, he's a selfless hero.| Cheers! |
